Privacy Policy

DishDelightful is a product of Innoverse LLC (“Innoverse LLC”, “we”, “us”), which operates the DishDelightful iOS and Android apps and this website. This policy applies to both.

Account information. When you create an account we receive your email address and, depending on how you sign in (email and password, Google, or Apple), your name and profile photo. We assign your account an internal identifier.

Preferences you set. Dietary preferences, allergies and ingredients you avoid, favorite cuisines, cooking skill and time preferences, units, language, and onboarding answers such as household size, whether you cook for children, and your cooking goals. Allergy information is sensitive — we use it only to tailor recipes and suggestions for you.

Cooking information. Recipes you save or create, collections, favorites, ratings, meal plans, grocery lists, pantry items, cooking sessions, cooking history, Cooking Memories, and achievements.

Content you provide. Recipe text you paste, links you import (we fetch the page you submit), documents, screenshots, and photos — for example recipe photos, meal photos, Photo Rescue photos, and Cooking Story photos with your notes.

Dishi and AI interactions. Messages you send to Dishi and requests to AI-assisted features. If you use voice, your device's speech recognition service turns your speech into text; DishDelightful receives the text, not the audio.

Shared Kitchen information. Kitchens you create or join, your membership, and invitations you send — including the email address of a person you invite by email.

Purchase information. Your plan, subscription status and renewal or expiry dates, purchase identifiers, and your Credit balance and transactions. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store your payment card number.

Support requests. What you write to us and, only if you choose to share them, diagnostics such as app version, device, operating system, and current screen.

Device and technical information. Push notification tokens and notification settings, app and device details, product usage events, error reports, and server logs that include IP addresses.

We use information to operate DishDelightful, provide cooking and planning features, maintain your account, process purchases and apply your plan and Credits, respond to support requests, send notifications you have allowed, protect the service against abuse, and improve reliability. We use product analytics to understand which features are used and where they fail.

When you use an AI-assisted feature — such as Dishi, recipe generation, recipe import, Meal Scan, Photo Rescue, or Cooking Story reflections — DishDelightful sends the information needed for that request to our AI service provider, currently OpenAI. Depending on the feature, that can include your message, recipe text, imported page text, photos, and relevant preferences such as allergies so the result can respect them. To make your personal cookbook searchable, the text of recipes you save is also processed by OpenAI to create search indexes.

OpenAI processes this information to provide the response under its own terms and policies. You choose whether to use AI-assisted features. AI output can be wrong — always check ingredients, allergens, and cooking temperatures yourself.

We share information with service providers only to run DishDelightful:

• Authentication: Google Firebase (sign-in and account emails such as password resets); Google and Apple when you sign in with them.
• Infrastructure and hosting: Amazon Web Services and our cloud database provider host the service, private files, and logs.
• AI processing: OpenAI, as described above.
• Purchases: Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) process payments; RevenueCat manages purchase and subscription status. On iOS, if you installed DishDelightful from one of our App Store ads, Apple tells RevenueCat which ad campaign led to the install, so we can measure which ads work. This uses Apple's privacy-preserving attribution: it does not use your device's advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Analytics: PostHog receives product usage events with a pseudonymous account identifier — not your email or name, and not your recipe text, photos, or allergies.
• Error monitoring: Sentry, when enabled, receives error reports; we filter out credentials and sensitive request data such as headers and query strings.
• Email and notifications: Resend sends service emails such as Shared Kitchen invitations and support acknowledgements; Expo delivers push notifications through Apple and Google.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. DishDelightful does not include advertising trackers.

Most of your information is private to your account. When you create or join a Shared Kitchen, its meal plans, grocery list, and pantry are visible to and editable by its members, and members can see each other's display names. Invitations you send show your display name to the person you invite. If you create a share link for a recipe or collection, anyone with that link can view what you shared.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. You can delete individual items — such as recipes, Dishi conversations, meal scans, and Cooking Story photos — in the app at any time.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify account-associated data, except limited records such as purchase event records, records of the deletion request, and security audit references; recipes our AI generated for you may be kept without any link to your account. Server logs and other operational records are kept for limited periods for security and troubleshooting. Encrypted backups may retain copies until normal backup retention periods expire. We use HTTPS between the app and our servers, store photos and documents in private storage, and enforce access controls on our servers so your private content is available only to your account and, for Kitchen items, to members of your Shared Kitchen. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Delete your account: in the app under Account → Delete Account, or by email — see account deletion.
• Delete content: remove recipes, conversations, scans, and photos in the app.
• Notifications: product update emails and push notifications are off unless you turn them on in the app's notification settings; you can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
• Questions and requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us using the details below; we may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Deleting your DishDelightful account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google. Cancel the subscription through your App Store or Google Play account.

If you believe a child has created a DishDelightful account or given us personal information, contact us and we will help delete it.

DishDelightful and its service providers process information in the United States, and service providers may also process it in other countries where they operate.

We will update the “Last updated” date when this policy changes and will tell you in the app or by other appropriate means about material changes.
